Power Series

Classes to keep you informed and inspired! The Turtle U Performing Arts in technology series offers classes that explore relevant technology tools available to the performing arts. You'll find classes on Volunteer Management, Season Sales Best Practices, and more.

We use the software as a jumping off point to consider how to build on your organization's success and stay on the cutting edge of the industry.

Social Media Marketing

In the ever-evolving world of using the internet for marketing your organization's season, education programs, and community, the trend toward "social media marketing" has exploded. In this session we explore how social media is relevant to the performing arts industry. What are the available tools? How can you use them effectively? How well do you know your patrons and their involvement on the internet? We've seen how social media can build the investment your patrons already have in your organization, and also how it can fall flat.

Start off by getting confident with the ideas on the table, and then make informed choices about what makes the most sense for your organization. This class explores the big name social media website tools such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and the roll of Blogs and takes a look at some of the lesser known social media tools. In answering these and other questions we'll take a look at some website that use these elements well and why, and some that don't and why. We'll also discuss how to go about making changes to your website so you stay abreast of trends relevant to your community - what are the challenges, and how they can be overcome.
